About The Sister School Program

Pencils of Promise created the Sister School program in order to provide a means of communication between students in the United States, Guatemala and Laos. Through the Sister School program’s curriculum, paired schools are able to share information about their identities, cultures, and experiences. Objectives of the Sister School Program:

  1. Students will gain an understanding of the culture and traditions of the country from which their school is paired.
  2. Students will define and understand the foundations of social activism.
  3. Students will begin to identify the global inequalities in education.
